Show Your Home A Little Love

Show Your Home A Little Love
Love is in the air this month, and while chocolates and flowers are still the main staple this Valentine’s Day, let’s not forget that “home is where the heart is!” This year, why not consider a few inexpensive but wonderfully creative ways to update your home with a little love! Tiny details and quick fixes can bring new rooms to life, make you smile or even add a touch of whimsy to your humble home.
Let’s take a look at five little ways you can add a new look to your home:
  • Paint Your Front Door:  Consider a vibrant red or hunter green and add a touch of bold to warm your front entryway and increase your curb appeal. All it takes is a gallon of paint, a little elbow grease and a steady hand and your house will take on a whole new look! Get a good quality exterior latex which will run you somewhere between $20-$35 per gallon.
  • Make Your Mark:  Chalkboard paint is a fun, creative way to make your mark in your home.  A child’s bedroom door can be an extraordinary art easel! A wall or cabinet panel in your kitchen can be your communication command post or take on the air of an old Italian cafĂ© by posting the menu for the day. Check your home improvement store shelves for this crafty paint choice or choose the “peel and stick” variety of wall coverings that you just press on and can peel off later! A quart of the paint will run you somewhere in the neighborhood of $10-15 and the peel and stick variety anywhere from $19 on up.
  • Get a Handle On It:  Changing a room’s mood and look can sometimes be as simple as changing out the hardware. Pretty pull drawers and new knobs can change a kitchen from boring to beautiful, or a bathroom from plain to perfect! Even old dressers or night stands can get a facelift with a quick coat of paint and new handles!  The varieties are endless and come in prices that range from a couple dollars to the sky’s the limit. And the possibilities? Just fun to consider!
  • Enough scuffs:  Is the bottom of your front door riddled with scuff marks, scratches and weathered edges? Go for the brass and install a beautiful, solid-brass kick plate for under $100!
  • Let there be light:  Under-cabinet lighting makes a shiny debut in kitchens — lighting the way for your culinary creations. Easy to install, do it yourself strip lights usually run under $50, but more elaborate varieties are also available.

There are a million little ways you can dress up or change the look of your home. Get creative, get crafty—and have fun making memories with these do-it-yourself projects!

Understanding the meaning of "agent" is the first step toward success...

Real estate transactions rank among the most important financial moves that most people will ever make. As a real estate professional, I understand this and want you to be fully aware of your representation options.
In real estate, "agent" refers to the nature of the fiduciary responsibility that exists between you and your chosen real estate professional. Having a complete understanding of this relationship is the first step toward working together to achieve your real estate goals.
A real estate professional becomes your agent only after a legally-binding document is signed by both parties. As your agent, that REALTOR® has a legal obligation to protect your best interests in every facet of the transaction.
Real estate professionals traditionally worked as agents of the seller, not the buyer. Their loyalties and responsibilities were only to the seller. REALTORS® working with buyers acted as "sub-agents" of the seller.
That has changed. Today’s buyers often retain real estate professionals to represent their own financial and legal interests when purchasing a home. The term is
"buyer’s agent."
Whether you’re a buyer or a seller, call me today to learn more about the benefits of having an agent on your side for all of your real estate transactions.
